The Person

I’m 34 years old, and I’m from Southern Manitoba originally. I’ve lived here in the Red Deer area for over 10 years now. I’m married to an amazing woman for almost 7 years, Naomi who is also my second shooter and assistant on most of my shoots. I have worn many hats in my professional career so far, but none of them seemed to fit until one day Naomi asked me what I REALLY wanted to do for the rest of my life. The answer was photography and she encouraged that I pursue it wholeheartedly. So I did just that, enrolling in Prairieview School of Photography that fall. Ever since then I’ve been doing photography in some way shape or form, making the leap to full-time last year (2015). I’m the oldest of 3 boys and am now a 3-time uncle which is so awesome. I’ve always been close with my family, and we have a great time when we’re all together. The goal is to be the favourite uncle to all my nieces and nephews and all of our friend’s kids too. I love being around kids and I’m a people person through and through, which is probably the reason why I love doing family and wedding photography. You’re getting to photograph people on their best day with the people that they love the most.  I’m a big sports fan, have been all my life. My sport of choice is baseball and my team is the Blue Jays. I have quite few tattoo’s and have a lot of Chuck Taylor AllStar’s. ( If they’re good enough for Marty McFly they’re good enough for me) I love singing and air guitaring to the radio because deep down I think I felt I could win the Voice TV show. I totally know what my blind audition song would be.

Well, that’s me in a nutshell… if you want to know more, call me or click below to contact me.

The Photographer

I’m pretty much the same guy, only I’m usually holding a camera and telling people to move just a tiny little bit to their right. The Same sense of humour anyway.

What can I say other than I love taking photos of people places and things. I specialize in wedding and family photography, doing commercial work as well for companies all over Central Alberta. Ever since I was a kid I was always the guy with a camera in his hands. All my family and friends were always asking me to print them doubles from the event that we were just at. Images are so important to me and I knew that at an early age. My room was plastered with photos of my family and friends from the shoots that I did as a youngster. My first paying gig as a photographer was shooting a friends band in Winnipeg. I can’t explain what a rush that was. I love the feeling that I get every time I have the chance to photograph someone. It’s a huge privilege and it’s something that I don’t take lightly.

As a professional, I have gotten to work with the CFL and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers which was a really cool experience. I love shooting musicians and I photographed Summer Sensations last year in Sylvan Lake which was awesome. However, wedding and family photography is where my heart is. It’s such a sweet job and I feel very blessed to be able to do it, and I hope that I do it well. Thanks for sticking around and reading both bios of me… I promise I don’t  have a split personality or anything.

Love What You Do

Let me tell ya, I have been around and done a lot of different jobs in my life. I have never loved going to work more than I do right now. It’ doesn’t even feel like work which doesn’t really seem fair. I love what I do and who I do it for. The reactions I get from my clients when they see their photos for the first time is something that I live for. I can’t wait to work with you.

Relaxed Approach

If you’re looking for a low pressure approach to photography you’ve come to the right place. I work hard to get to know you before we do a photoshoot together if at all possible, and I think that allows me to get the best possible results from my clients. They know me and can relax around me. We laugh and goof around and have lots of fun which translate into beautiful photos. Trust me, I’m a professional.

Trained Professional

I was lucky enough to have attended a professional photography school in Winnipeg which was an unreal experience. I learned so much there, and I truly believe that it’s something that sets me apart from my competition. In a saturated market with a lot of choice out there, it’s important to trust your photography to a trained pro. Photos are an investment and I definitely treat your photos with the utmost care.

Go The Extra Mile

I’m going to treat you the same way I would like to be treated. I know you’re excited to see your photos from the shoot we just had, so I will work hard to get you the first look images as soon as photographically possible. You’re important to me as a client, so I work hard to make you feel appreciated. Without you, I’m working somewhere else way less cool!

Drum Balls

This product was made by a local inventor and musician Don Swift. It gained some serious steam in the drummer community and eventually the magazine Modern Drummer wanted him to get some photos done for an appearance in the magazine. I was lucky enough to have taken the photos that were featured in his add.
